Great site to explore and to find classes to create all kinds of jewelry... skill development and a place to go and explore other artists. There is the link: http://www.theupstartcrow.ca/
Wow! I attended a Gala a couple of weeks back and it was put on by a Society comprised of many from the South Asian community. I knew there would be eye popping, gorgeous outfits there and accompanying jewelry so I decided to make something for myself that was a representation of me but with the inspiration of a shawl or "chunni" from India, that a friend had given me to wear that was in a deep, deep fuchsia. So beautiful!
I buy lots of my components from Kellie's Bead Boutique in Maple Ridge and brought the shawl to the shop to look around for something to create... at the front counter, tucked away on glass shelves, I found these gorgeous Swarovski rivoli crystals... the colours just dance around as you hold the rocks in your hand. There were components to glue in the crystals and these simple earrings evolved... Now I am hooked!
